This spring source is excellent. Why donft we use it for a hot spring?
@I decided to construct these hot spring facilities thanks to a proposal made by an employee of the district forest office that I often visited. He said that there was a good hot spring and suggested that I use it as a spa.
@In 1964, the hot spring was constructed as a recreational facility for the citizens of this town, and was inaugurated in the following year. In those days, it was just a wooden two-story building with a capacity of 75 people. During the areafs heydays, three Japanese-style inns, including Higashi Taisetsu-so, and one youth hostel were operated here and used the spring water. I heard that it was a hot spring resort consisting of four spas, including private ones.
@However, it was impossible to operate the inns during winter in those days and they were forced to operate them only in summer. Management of the facilities appeared to be very difficult, thereby leading the inns other than Higashi Taisetsu-so to discontinue business.
@In 1965, when business was initiated, the construction of the Tokachi Dam commenced. Therefore, a great number of workers used Higashi Taisetsu-so, where they recovered from their fatigue.

Our hot spring is a valuable asset and its benefits are endorsed.
@Many of our guests are repeaters. Once they bathe here, the majority of them are completely satisfied.
@There was a guest who came once in the summer and then came back for spa treatment for a longer period of time during the winter. Another guest, who was unable to walk without a cane, got well enough to begin walking without using a cane. There are also people who have been cured of atopic dermatitis. I am very pleased when I hear about these. Here, the hot spring is a valuable asset and we are truly grateful for this blessing from nature. I am sure that visitors here will fully enjoy this tranquil and excellent hot spring located in a spot where the nature of the mountains and people are kept in balance.
@Each season in Tokachi has its own individual attraction. I want as many people as possible to come and feel the attraction.
