Mt. Tomuraushi-dake & Goshikigahara
This is one of the hidden scenic mountains included in the listing for the Best 100 Mountains in Japan. With large colonies of dicentra and beautiful fields full of globeflowers, this is truly an earthly paradise.

It takes approximately one hour by car to Tomuraushi Hot Spring, which is the starting point for hiking, and then about six hours to hike to the summit. This mountain is suitable for experienced hikers. The vicinity of Tomuraushi Hot Spring is located in the deepest part of Daisetsuzan National Park, where the grand nature of Hioku Falls, Kirifuki Falls, Bougakudai, etc. can be fully enjoyed. Hot springs such as Nupun Tomuraushi are extremely pleasant.
Recommended seasons Goshikigahara in the middle of July is blanketed with flowering alpine plants, providing a view of the Taisetsu Mountains so exquisite that it is often referred to as the gplaying field of the gods.h However, temperatures sometimes plummet below zero even in summer at Mt. Tomuraushi. Therefore, thorough preparation and planning before embarking on a mountaineering adventure on this mountain is imperative.
